According to WWF, for more than 40 years, our consumption of natural resources has exceeded the planet’s ability to replenish them.
As a result, stocks of natural resources are depleted, waste accumulates faster than it is absorbed, threatening biodiversity, the economy and also mankind in the longer term.
A company’s ecological footprint measures the pressure it exerts through its activity on the planet, by estimating the area needed to produce the natural resources consumed and to absorb the pollution and waste generated.
Why measure your company’s ecological footprint?
In addition to the carbon footprint, the ecological footprint is an indicator of the impact of human activities on the natural environment. It thus allows your company to have a broader vision of its ecological responsibility by measuring in hectares the biologically productive area necessary for its activity.
